Carmen Curlers

It’s 1965. American cosmetics giant Clarice Cosmetics is in Denmark, looking to collaborate with Axel and Carmen Curlers.

During the Americans' visit, one of the young ladies in the factory hall has a serious workplace accident, sparking complaints and requests for more support. Birthe keeps the Americans away from the angry women and Axel lands a huge order.

Fifty thousand sets of Carmen Curlers are on their way to the US, but Europe also needs more. Axel expands and hires people for night shifts, happy to increase the workforce he sees not just as employees, but as family.

A manufacturing defect compels Carmen Curlers to recall orders from all over the world. Axel and Frans got to Switzerland to pick up a spare part and return convinced the factory has been sabotaged.

Production is back on track and Carmen Curlers prepares for an important visit from the American ambassador. Kathrine’s political awakening, however, may pose a problem.

Miss Johansson, the Marketing Director of Clarice Cosmetics, visits Carmen Curlers. Both Axel and Birthe are fascinated by the modern, independent businesswoman.

Carmen Curlers have been copied and everyone in the factory is under suspicion. Axel boards the train to Italy with Marc and Franz, to visit Carla Curlers and discover the thief. When he arrives, Carmen is saved but Axel is alone.
