This German Field Marshall had tributes paid to him by both Winston Churchill and Adolf Hitler. He was revered by his own troops and respected by those who fought against him. A close adviser to The Fuhrer, and part of an attempt to kill him. Rommel's controversial legacy as both a hero, and a War Criminal is still debated today.

His fleet of U-boats killed thousands and sunk millions of tons of ships and supplies. His career spanned the depths of the ocean to the leader of a nation. At Nuremberg he was charged with piracy and murder as a Nazi War Criminal, and yet escaped the hangman. His story is now told, by both the historians and by the personal statements of those who served with him.

He was a hardcore Nazi commander and became one of Hitler's cold-blooded killers. His hatred, malice and cruelty were quickly recognized by the Nazi High Command and put to work. Hitler called him "The Man With The Iron Heart", as he helped design the Holocaust, and was personally responsible for the imprisonment, torture and death of millions.
