The former PRIDE rivals squared off for the first time inside the Octagon at UFC 92 as Jackson was attempting to defeat Silva for the first time in three tries. The fight lived up to the hype when 'Rampage' stopped 'The Axe Murder' with a KO in the first round to gain his revenge.

Houston Alexander was looking to make a name for himself in his Octagon debut against 'The Dean of Mean' Keith Jardine at UFC 71. It didn't take Alexander long to establish he meant business in the UFC with a TKO in less than a minute.

Chuck Liddell had been on a tear, winning his previous 7 fights before encountering Rampage at UFC 71. The last man to beat him was Rampage Jackson when the two squared off in Pride. Liddell had revenge on his mind but Jackson wanted nothing more than to continue his winning ways over 'The Iceman'. Which he did in stunning fashion.

UFC Welterweight Champion Matt Serra traveled to interim Champion Georges St-Pierre's hometown of Montreal, Canada to see which was the true UFC Welterweight Champion.

UFC Welterweight champion Matt Hughes defended his title against Frank Trigg at UFC 45. The champion only needed one round to submit the challenger.

Chuck Liddell gave a rude welcome to Kevin Randleman in the former heavyweight champ's light heavyweight debut at UFC 31, stopping him with a left hook a mere 1:18 into the first round. This was the fight that effectively kicked off the UFC reign of 'The Iceman'.

The first time Jens Pulver and BJ Penn fought it was for the UFC Lightweight Title. After a five round, back-and-forth battle, it was Pulver who emerged victorious.

From the opening bell the fight at UFC 56 between Georges St. Pierre and Sean Sherk was all St. Pierre, as the explosive Canadian controlled not only the standup game, but the ground action as well, and once "Rush" had Sherk on the ground, it was bombs away, and the end came at 2:53 of the second round.

Two good friends from Ultimate Fighter 4 square off in the Octagon to battle, which produced one of the most unbelievable endings in the UFC. After a vicious blow to the body Smith knocks out an over anxious Sell.

'Minotauro' Nogueira and Tim Sylvia were both looking to make history when they met at UFC 81. Nogueira was looking to be the first person to ever hold a heavyweight title in both Pride and in the UFC while Sylvia was looking to regain the UFC heavyweight crown for the third time.

Coming off of 3 straight losses Wanderlei Silva was looking to get his first win inside the Octagon since 1999. Keith Jardine, however, was trying to show that his win over Chuck Liddell was no fluke and that he was the top contender at 205lbs.

After their controversial first match at UFC 31, Couture and Rizzo meet once again to settle the score. Though this time there was no doubt of who won when Couture knocked out Rizzo in the third round of the spectacular rematch.

At UFC Fight Night, world-class Brazilian bomber Anderson Silva, who was making his long-awaited UFC debut, walked through the usually durable Chris Leben in a mere 49 seconds, stunning the crowd and announcing his arrival with a flourish and a loud one at that.

Sean Sherk returned to the Octagon to reclaim his title after serving a suspension for testing positive for a banned substance. After much pre fight hype the talking time was over and it was time to find out who was the UFC Lightweight Champion, BJ Penn or Sean Sherk.

Vitor Belfort was undefeated coming into this fight against Randy Couture. None of Belfort's fights had ever gone on longer than 2 minutes. At only 20 years old Belfort was being praised as the next "Big Thing". At this point in MMA history, Randy Couture was seen as just another victim of Belfort's climb to the top.

Chuck Liddell and Randy Couture battled it out for the third and final time with the UFC Light Heavyweight Title on the line. It was Liddell emerging from the Octag victorious after a second-round knockout.

After barely breaking a sweat in his first seven UFC wins Royce Gracie then ran into a physical buzzsaw in the imposing Kimo Leopoldo. Kimo forced Gracie to the brink of defeat before the Brazilian legend showed his warrior's heart by roaring back and submitting Kimo in 4:40 of the most intense UFC action seen to that point.

Hughes got his chance to avenge his last loss. BJ Penn wanted his UFC Welterweight title back. It was a back-and-forth battle that ended with Hughes getting the TKO over Penn.

Randy Couture was fighting for respect at UFC 74 against the much younger up-and-coming Gabriel Gonzaga. What he ended up finding was his form as he successfully defended his Heavyweight Championship.

Rampage stepped into his first UFC Light Heavyweight defense against PRIDE Champion Dan Henderson. It was Henderson's first time back into the Octagon since UFC 17, while Jackson was coming off his KO of Chuck Liddell at UFC 71. Jackson and Henderson locked horns in a 5 round battle that left no room for error.

One of the most anticipated rematches in UFC history didn't disappoint when Chuck Liddell and Tito Ortiz squared off at UFC 66. With the light heavyweight belt on the line the bout lasted until the third round, but had similar results to their first encounter. With Liddell again winning by TKO.

Rising in weight from 155 pounds to 170 to challenge a man considered to be one of the top pound for pound fighters in the world, BJ Penn was seen by most to be committing athletic suicide against Matt Hughes, who was making the sixth defense of his title. Someone forgot to tell Penn though, who, in one of the sport's most memorable moments, fulfilled all of his exceptional promise in a mere four minutes and 39 seconds as he submitted Hughes in the first round.

At first the fans inside the Mandalay Bay Events Center booed the stoppage between UFC Heavyweight Champion Frank Mir and Tim Sylvia. But most changed their minds as the saw the replay of Syliva's arm breaking during Mir's arm bar attempt.

Tito Ortiz and Randy Couture went the distance at UFC 44. Couture dominated Ortiz and walked away from the Octagon that night with the Light Heavyweight title.
