Green Hornet Strikes Again (Original Serial)

Dramatic opening of the film shows a battle on board ship between the Hornet and one of the villainous gang. Fire breaks out below decks and the Hornet is blocked from safety by falling timbers as the ship becomes an inferno.

At a deserted river house, the Hornet and Kato break up a meeting between the crime syndicate and foreign agents. The racketeers flee. In hot pursuit, the Hornet dangerously boards the crooks' car just as it careens up the ramp of an open drawbridge to plunge headlong into the swirling waters.

Seeking to foil the plot to substitute a clever actress for heiress Frances Grayson, The Green Hornet learns of the hideout of the kidnappers. The Hornet takes Miss Grayson to an unoccupied lodge. Waterson, a racketeer chief, finds them just as lightning strikes the building, blotting it out in a sheet of flame.

When the Hornet arrives at the dam, he halts the attempt to close the flood gates at the power plant and blow up the turbines. He then threatens to light the explosive fuses himself if his prisoners will not tell him who their leader is. When other henchmen arrive, a battle ensues and the Hornet is thrown against a large control board of switches. There is a flash of electricity.

Realizing the Hornet will soon know the whereabouts of the secret ammunition warehouse, Crogan, mastermind of the racketeers, orders one of his bombers to drop a load of explosives on the building. Just as the Hornet arrives, the bomb hits and the warehouse is destroyed in a deafening blast.

Adapted from the radio broadcast of May 26, 1938. At a steel plant, a vat of molten metal is overturned near the Hornet. At night he returns to inspect the secret laboratory where a powerful anti-aircraft bomb is being prepared for a foreign agent. When the Hornet tries to force the scientist in charge to reveal the identity of the master criminal, the man blows up the lab.

Failing to learn from the co-inventor of a new high explosive weapon where the antiaircraft projectile is to be tested, the Hornet and Kato rush to a landing field where they discover the target plane already has gone. The Hornet takes off in another plane, which is shot and crashes in flames.

Adapted from the radio broadcast of January 13, 1940. When Axford fails to report from the Grayson mansion, the Hornet, with the aid of Kato, visits the palatial estate. They find both Axford and Miss Grayson in the clutches of the racketeers. During the ensuing fight, Axford slips away and summons the police. The Hornet attempts to flee in a hail of bullets.

Adapted from the radio broadcast of August 26, 1937. When The Daily Sentinel, Reid's newspaper, exposes the racket organization, Crogan, the master criminal, outlines a trap for the belligerent publisher. Disguised as The Green Hornet, the newspaperman is led on by clues disclosing a new racket to him.

The Hornet learns that a forged note gives Cain, a crooked lawyer, full title to an expected oil gusher. The Hornet obtains a full confession from Cain and goes to stop the racketeers' plan to "shoot" the well. A shot fired by the Hornet misses and sets off a box of nitro-cartridges, causing e oil rig to collapse.

Adapted from the radio broadcast of May 12, 1938. When Axford is captured by hijackers, The Green Hornet follows the gang to their hideout. He rescues Axford and learns a truckload of silk is to be looted. With Kato driving his high-powered car, the Hornet leaps to the hijackers' truck just as it swerves and plunges into to an abandoned quarry.

At the crooks' warehouse, where stolen motors and several cases of explosives are awaiting shipment over the border, Axford and Miss Case are held prisoner. The Hornet, arriving outside, is refused entrance, so he backs up his limousine and crashes through the explosives, setting off a blast that wrecks the building.

Adapted from the radio broadcast of April 12, 1938. Large insurance losses in warehouse fires bring a new phase of the racketeering syndicate to the attention of the Hornet. With Kato, he again begins midnight raids on the racketeers. Racing to a warehouse marked for destruction, the Hornet encounters the renegades but is trapped as a consuming blaze is started.

When grafters confess to robbing "association" members of huge sums, the leader, knocked out and kidnapped by the Hornet, recovers in the Hornet's car. While powerful police cars, directed by Axford, swing out onto the highway in pursuit of the Hornet and his captive, the Hornet loses control and the car plunges over an embankment into a deep gorge.

The master crook is making his getaway when the Hornet enters and forces a full confession. The gang breaks in, but the Hornet shoots out the light and escapes as a time bomb blows up the racketeers.
