Commander Blake is in trouble. Her relationship with convicted killer James Lampton made the tabloids, and her supervisors are not amused.

Commander Blake's terminally ill sister moves in with her while Blake deals with the dangerous computer hacker who has threatened to kill more patients every 24 hours.

Patient and persistent, Deputy Chief Constable Stephen Blackton (David O'Hara) has earned his nickname, "Blackdog," as he is called in to re-open the investigation of the Lionel Cripps shooting.

Graham Warner, the officer implicated in the Lionel Cripps shooting, is found dead in a park. Commander Blake continues to bury evidence of her relationship with James Lampton.
