In 1969, as the Vietnam War rages, Billy Covington, a skilled pilot, loses his job and is recruited by the CIA for Air America, a secret operation in Laos. At the Long Tien base, veteran Gene Ryan introduces him to the crew, who are profiting from shady deals. Framed for smuggling drugs, Billy faces an investigation just as guerrillas launch a deadly attack, trapping civilians in the crossfire.
