Cagney & Lacey

Cagney (Sharon Gless) and Lacey (Tyne Daly) both have differing recollections when it comes to the events surrounding a young officer fatally shooting a civilian. Also staring Al Waxman as Lt. Bert Samuels and Carl Lumbly as Mark Petrie.

When a fellow police officer is shot and killed in a restaurant, Cagney and Lacey join in the feverish search for the killer. Meanwhile, Isbecki works to do all that he can to keep the duo off of the precinct's softball team.

Detectives Cagney (Sharon Gless) and Lacey (Tyne Daly) are assigned to a special task force to investigate a series of beauty salon robberies. The case becomes more complicated when it is discovered that the burglars are posing as police officers.

Harvey (John Karlen) disagrees with the outcome of an investigation after a former colleague falls to his death at a construction site. Harvey recruits Mary Beth (Tyne Daly) to help him investigate what he believes to be a murder.

After three women are found strangled, Cagney (Sharon Gless) and Lacey (Tyne Daly) investigate whether or not there is a connection between the attacks, and an erotic hotline. Also staring Al Waxman and Carl Lumbly.

Cagney (Sharon Gless) and Lacey (Tyne Daly) are called in when an elderly man comes looking for his wife. But a simple missing persons case soon turns into a major bigamy and fraud case. All the while Cagney deals with a suitor.

Cagney (Sharon Gless) and Lacey (Tyne Daly) team together with another detective, Charles Stephens (guest star Christopher Allport), to investigate an illegal handgun operation. However their investigation is impeded by Charles's suspension.

Cagney (Sharon Gless) and Lacey (Tyne Daly) are looking forward to an early release on Christmas Eve when a man dressed as Santa Claus (guest star Richard Masur), who has been arrested for charity fraud, escapes from his cell in the 14th precinct.

Cagney and Lacey team up with Sergeant Dory McKenna (guest star Barry Primus) in an investigation of a group of senior citizens terrorized by their landlord. Cagney's romance with Dory is complicated by his addiction to cocaine.

Cagney (Sharon Gless) and Lacey (Tyne Daly) investigate a series of burglaries that occurred while all of the victims were at funerals. They become especially interested in a young teenage victim, who is bound to a wheelchair.

Lacey (Tyne Daly) becomes worried when Cagney (Sharon Gless) becomes obsessed with catching notorious jewel thief Albert Grand (guest star Ferdy Mayne), who despite committing several hotel safe robberies has never been convicted.

Cagney (Sharon Gless) and Lacey (Tyne Daly) find that they have very mixed emotions when another female detective (guest star Talia Balsam) is assigned to the 14th precinct. Also staring Al Waxman as Lt. Bert Samuels and Carl Lumbly as Mark Petrie.

Cagney (Sharon Gless) and Lacey's (Tyne Daly) faith in the legal system is tested when a solid homicide case crumbles and a friend and former rape victim is forced to relive her courtroom ordeal. Also staring Al Waxman and Carl Lumbly.

Cagney (Sharon Gless) refuses to drop the investigation into a murdered Jane Doe, who also happens to be a homeless woman. Cagney is determined to discover her real identity before her burial. Also staring Tyne Daly, Al Waxman, and Carl Lumbly.

Cagney and Lacey are at odds over the investigation of a rape case. Cagney sides with the male investigators who feel the woman is at fault, while Lacey sides with the woman. Things become more complicated when the woman's past is used against her.

When Lacey's vacation is temporarily postponed, she becomes overwhelmed with her responsibilities as a cop, wife and mother. Meanwhile, Cagney goes undercover as a nun to investigate drugs that have gone missing from a hospital.

Detective Victor Isbecki's cover is blown during an investigation of a dangerous car theft ring and he becomes a hostage. Cagney and Lacey must work to help save him, while coming to terms with their own failures in the investigation.

Cagney and Lacey find what should be a simple hit-and-run accident becomes deeply complicated when the son of a diplomat becomes involved. The team must figure out how to arrest the son, while the father attempts to stop them.

While out at a bar celebrating Petrie's promotion, the 14th precinct is robbed of their guns, shields, and possessions. The team then works furiously to find the perpetrators after they become the laughing stock of the entire NYPD.

Cagney and Lacey are assigned to investigate a wife-beating case and discover that the victim's husband is a cop and former classmate of Lacey's. Meanwhile the team also has to find a way to charge a con man after they are forced to let him go.

Cagney and Lacey run into an issue with their drug investigation when it turns out that their teenage informant is a perpetrator of the crimes himself. They are then faced with the dilemma of releasing a one criminal in order to arrest another.
