Steve Buscemi plays Les, a small-time celebrity photographer desperate to make it big. He befriends Toby (Michael Pitt), a homeless young man with no direction except a vague desire to become an actor. When Toby becomes romantically involved with the hottest pop star of the moment (Alison Lohman), Les grows jealous and tensions surrounding fame and fidelity flare.
