Demon Slayer

Tanjiro Kamado lives peacefully with his family in the mountains during the Taisho Period. Returning from selling charcoal, he discovers his family slaughtered by demons. His sister Nezuko, the sole survivor, turns into a demon herself and attacks him, beginning Tanjiro's journey for revenge and a cure.

Following Giyu Tomioka's advice, Tanjiro takes Nezuko to Mt. Sagiri. Inside a temple, he encounters a man-eating demon. Despite fighting back with his axe, the demon overwhelms him until Giyu saves him, inspiring Tanjiro to join the Demon Slayer Corps.

Sakonji Urokodaki trains Tanjiro for the Final Selection through rigorous exercises: navigating booby-trapped mountains, practicing sword swings, waterfall immersion, and mastering breathing techniques. After a year, Urokodaki challenges Tanjiro to slice a boulder as his final test.

To join the Demon Slayer Corps, Tanjiro must survive seven days on Mt. Fujikasane among imprisoned demons. Using Urokodaki's techniques, he defeats numerous demons, proving his two years of training worthwhile until a powerful morphed demon suddenly appears.

Only four swordsmen survive the Final Selection. They receive Demon Slayer uniforms and Kasugai Crows as messengers. Tanjiro selects ore for his Nichirin sword using his exceptional sense of smell, marking his official entry into the Corps.

Now a Demon Slayer with his sword and Nezuko in a special box, Tanjiro investigates disappearing girls in a northwestern town. He meets Kazumi, whose girlfriend vanished, and detects a demon's scent without seeing one, determined to solve this sinister case.

Cornered by three demons, Tanjiro witnesses Nezuko's newfound demon strength as she attacks them. No longer needing protection, she shows her power while Tanjiro pursues one demon into a swamp, where greater danger awaits.

Tanjiro's next mission takes him to Asakusa, Tokyo. Amazed by the flourishing Taisho Era city, he follows a demon's scent to Muzan Kibutsuji. When Tanjiro attempts to attack, Muzan creates chaos by turning humans into demons. As Tanjiro tries to control the situation, a mysterious figure appears.

Two demons, Tamayo and Yushiro, rescue Tanjiro using an 'Eyeblind' spell. At Tamayo's house, Tanjiro learns demons might be turned human again. Their conversation is interrupted when pursuing demons locate them and launch a fierce attack.

Tanjiro battles Yahaba's powerful Blood Demon Art, employing various Water Breathing techniques. Meanwhile, Nezuko fights Susamaru as Tamayo unleashes her own Blood Demon Art, combining their strengths against these formidable opponents.

 Directed south-southeast by his crow, Tanjiro meets fellow survivor Zenitsu Agatsuma, whose pessimism tests Tanjiro's patience. They encounter children whose brother was taken into a mansion, where Zenitsu hears a tsuzumi drum's ominous sound.

Inside the mansion, Tanjiro and Zenitsu get separated when rooms rotate with each tsuzumi drum beat. Fearful Zenitsu must protect Shoichi while Tanjiro confronts the mansion's demon master and encounters a strange man wearing a boar hide.

Tanjiro struggles against Kyogai as the room spins with each drum beat. Despite broken bones from previous battles, he fights desperately against Kyogai's overwhelming Blood Demon Art, searching for a way to behead the powerful demon. Anime

After defeating Kyogai, Tanjiro exits the mansion to find a battered Zenitsu holding Nezuko's box. Confronting them is the boar-masked man with two drawn Nichirin swords, creating a tense standoff over Nezuko's fate.

Tanjiro, Nezuko, Zenitsu, and Inosuke travel north-northwest to spider-infested Mount Natagumo. Leaving the frightened Zenitsu behind, Tanjiro and Inosuke ascend the mountain, encountering a Corps member trapped in spider webs.

 Tanjiro and Inosuke battle Corps members controlled by spider webs. As they venture deeper, the threads thicken and the controlled members move unnaturally. Tanjiro develops a strategy to stop them without causing harm.

After slaying the Spider Demon mother, Tanjiro learns a demon in the forest might hold the key to curing Nezuko. Despite Inosuke's injuries, they press deeper while Zenitsu encounters a terrifying human-headed spider.

Tanjiro and Inosuke battle the Spider Demon father. After being hurled away, Tanjiro finds young demon Rui torturing his 'sister.' Enraged by Rui's twisted concept of family bonds based on terror and hatred, Tanjiro challenges him.

The Demon Slayer Corps' elite Hashira arrive at Mt. Natagumo. Water Hashira Giyu Tomioka defeats the Spider Demon father with one stroke, impressing Inosuke. Meanwhile, Insect Hashira Shinobu Kocho finds Zenitsu poisoned and near death.

Facing certain death against Rui's Blood Demon Art, Tanjiro remembers his father's kagura dance and unleashes a new technique: Hinokami Kagura Dance. This powerful move allows him to behead Rui. As he crawls toward the wounded Nezuko, someone approaches.

Tanjiro's protection of Nezuko triggers Rui's memories of his human life as a sickly boy who became a demon after meeting Muzan Kibutsuji. When his parents tried to kill him after his transformation, Rui began searching for a family bond that always seemed beyond reach.

 Tanjiro and Nezuko are taken to Demon Slayer headquarters for the Hashira Meeting with Corps leader Ubuyashiki. The Hashira put Tanjiro on trial for protecting a demon, and Wind Hashira Sanemi Shinazugawa threatens Nezuko with his sword.

Corps leader Ubuyashiki appears before Tanjiro, willing to accept him and Nezuko despite the Hashira's reluctance. Sanemi cuts his arm to taunt Nezuko with blood, testing whether she'll reveal her demonic nature.

 Injured Tanjiro, Zenitsu, and Inosuke recover at Insect Hashira Shinobu's mansion. Two weeks later, Tanjiro and Inosuke face brutal rehabilitation training that breaks their spirits, while Zenitsu eagerly joins after seeing the female attendants.

 During rehabilitation at the Butterfly Mansion, Tanjiro works to maintain Total Concentration Breathing constantly. Initially helpless against trainer Kanao, he gradually improves. Inspired by his dedication, Zenitsu and Inosuke resume their own training.
