Jin Hyuk is Korea's top neurosurgeon and encounters an odd patient at the roof of his hospital.

Hyuk wanders around the alley. He meets an injured man, and Younglae who looks just like his love, Mina.

After Hyuk saves Younglae's brother, he stays over at her house. He treats all the people as a doctor.

Hongpil orders Hyuk to go to the public infirmary. He treats all the sick people in the middle of a plague.

As Hyuk treats everyone, he suddenly shows symptoms of cholera. Younglae and Haeung try to cure him.

Hyuk meets the courtesan sick of syphilis. He wonders if he should cure it or let history play as it should.

Hyuk doesn't interfere with history, but he can't let patients just die. He tries to make penicillin.

Hyuk learns about the sudden nuptials between Gyeongtak and Younglae. He feels very frustrated.

In spite of Hyuk and Prince Heungseon, the French campaign against Joseon continues. A highjack takes place.

The French Army attacks Joseon and leaves them helpless. Haeung leads the army himself to the Kangwhado.
