Dzhulbars - The Soviet War Dog

August, 1941. German spies are landing near the front line city. The inexperienced cadets of the Military Dog School, located nearby, engage in a fight. School sergeant Yegorych is seriously wounded. But Kira saves his life. Kira is a doctor, she's on her way to the nearby town for work, but she is forced to stop and stay at school with her daughter.

There is an embarrassment at the Dog School: someone has eaten all the sausages in the warehouse. The kidnapper is never caught until the former hunter now a soldier Yasha takes over. The beast is caught: it is a wild dog, resembling a wolf.

After going to the theater, Kira and Shevtsov realize that they are attracted to each other and they spend the night together. German troops break through the front line. Citizens and soldiers of the academy are forced to evacuate. Polyakov arrives at the school in an ambulance car. Kira refuses to go with him, but Shevtsov convinces her, as her daughter will be in a safe place.

Polyakov, Lisa and Kira try to leave the town, but are caught the Germans. They try to hide in the forest, but fail to evade them. Dzhulbars rescues however, leading Shevtsov with a squad of fighters to their location.

After discovering a village torn a part by the Nazi's, Shevtsov's unit comes across a priest: the lone survivor of the village. The priest joins the group as they continue on their journey to a nearby city.

After fighting and evading the Germans, Shevtsov's unit finally reaches the city. While they wait for the train to evacuate the city, the unit helps locals prepare. Once the train is ready to go, Kira jumps off to help a woman in labor. Shevtsov and his unit hold the Germans back, just long enough for the train to leave safely.

Kira and Polyakov are captured and interrogated by the Germans. Lisa and Dzhulbars, out on their own, try to find a nearby village. Glasha returns the secret archives to her Soviet generals, while pleading for help to find Lisa. As the Germans close in on Shevtsov's unit, Yegorych makes an ultimate sacrifice.

Although Arapov manages to send a group of scouts to the unit's location, but they're too late. Shevtsov's group is massacred, as he, Yasha and Alekseev are the only survivors. Devastated with losing Lisa, Kira searches the city for answers.
