The town of Roeng is struggling with depopulation and low employment, and when Mayor Tom Eide discovers irregularities with the city’s cellulose funds, he fears the worst.

The newfound millions of dollars puzzle the Mayor, Councilman and Finance Manager of Roeng: How can they get the money into the towns account without breaking the law?

The millions of dollars bring joy amongst Roengs population, but also more work for the City Hall staff. More trouble occurs when Mayor Tom Eide falls for the temptation to cover his personal expenses with the city funds.

Roeng has become the wealthiest town in Norway, but Mayor Tom Eide’s private life is a disaster. Tom needs an economic miracle and turns to the Councilman’s son Benjamin for help.

The loan sharks have not received their money from Mayor Tom Eide so they suddenly show up at the City Hall to talk to Tom. Lena gets a somewhat unexpected question and Tom wants to inspire the local youth.

The County Governor examines the legality of the financial operations of Roeng. Mayor Tom Eide believes he has the situation under control until it turns out that Reidun has some sensitive information regarding the newfound millions.

The Municipal Department suspects that Roeng has broken its financial regulations and the Councilman must answer tough questions in Oslo. Mayor Tom Eide gets distracted by a yoga instructor in the house next door.

The State claim Roeng’s newfound millions, but Mayor Tom Eide would rather spend it all than pay up. He has an idea on how and seeks expertise from abroad. But the council stands in his way.

The Municipal Department is willing to do anything to stop Mayor Tom Eide's plans for space travel. The County Governor puts pressure on Tom's ex-wife and the Department of Transportation to prevent Tom from traveling to Siberia.

The entire community watch closely as Tom and Sergej prepares for travel to outer space. When the autopilot breaks down, their chance for survival looks bleak. Can the residents of Roeng rescue the town Mayor?
