War Birds: Diary of an Unknown Aviator (PBS version)
Three young Southerners are recruited by Canadian ace Billy Bishop to join the Royal Air Force in 1917. One is a budding writer named Elliot Springs. When his wing-mate Mac Grider is killed, Springs fulfills his promise to publish Grider's diary after the war. The diary scandalizes the public with its salacious detail but also its anti-war slant - which Springs had added to the diary himself.
