Accident-prone and forgetful, George Newman gets fired from another job. When his uncle hires him to manage Channel 62-a local TV station on the brink of bankruptcy-George swaps out the reruns for a raft of weird and wonderful live shows, and, against the odds, turns the station's fortunes around.
