Mentors Anne Burrell and Rachael Ray assess the new recruits' skills in the kitchen. Then they face a main dish challenge with shrimp and live lobster, and those with the least successful dishes on each team are sent home.

The recruits break out of their shells starting with the most important meal of the day: breakfast. Then they bring the day full circle in the main dish challenge by ditching frozen microwave meals for home-cooked dinners.

Anne Burrell and Rachael Ray teach the recruits all about flavor and then send them on a culinary trip around the world with ingredients that correspond to the cuisine of a foreign country.

Two surprise mentors coach the recruits through the skill drill of making unconventional pizzas. Then, the recruits have to get their hands dirty and face their fishy fears by learning how to fillet and prepare a fish dinner.

The recruits put their culinary knowledge to the test in a game of Family Food. Then they must cook for a crowd and impress their guests with the ultimate game-day sandwich and an appetizer.

Anne and Rachael bring in a special guest mentor to teach the recruits how to make a decadent chocolate dessert for Valentine's Day. For the main dish challenge, the recruits must cook a romantic meal to wow their loved ones.

The recruits must face the foods they fear most by creating a dish that utilizes both their least favorite ingredient as well as a more obscure ingredient not used in everyday cooking.

The recruits tackle the melting pot of flavors and techniques associated with New Orleans cuisine. For the main dish challenge, the recruits must individually replicate their mentors' New Orleans-inspired dishes.

The final four recruits demonstrate their cooking skills and direct their mentors to make a dish. Then Anne and Rachael bring in VIP guests to decide which recruits move on to the finale for the chance of winning $25,000.

The final two recruits must prepare a three-course, restaurant-quality meal for a panel of culinary experts in the final challenge. The judges will pick the winning recruit who will walk away with $25,000.
