Captain Paul Watson leaves Melbourne with a crew of new volunteers. When they encounter their first whaling ship, Watson is uncertain if the newbies are ready for the dangerous mission.

The Sea Shepherds finally spot a harpoon vessel. Captain Watson comes up with a plan for crewmembers to board the ship and deliver a letter telling them to stop the whale-killings.

The crewmembers are being held hostage aboard the Japanese whaling ship. Captain Watson enjoys the media frenzy he has created and rejects an offer from the whalers to release the hostages.

After three long days, Ben "Pottsy" Potts and Giles Lane are transferred back from the whaler and become instant media celebrities. Suddenly, the crew discovers that a mysterious ship has been tracking their every move.

The ship's engineer reports that one of two engines is broken. They will be unable to keep up with the Japanese whalers and are forced to return to Melbourne for repairs. While heading back, they have to navigate through a massive storm.

The Sea Shepherds head out to sea to find the Japanese whaling ships. After they pinpoint the fleet's location, Captain Watson raises the stakes and plans for another boarding. This time it will be an all-female team.

The Sea Shepherds find the most important ship in the Japanese whaling fleet: the Nisshin Maru factory ship. Despite warnings from the Japanese whalers, the Sea Shepherds strike.
