Laura must decide if she will help Niska, while Karen and Pete learn about a unique synth being sold on the black market. Hester uses questionable means to gain information from the prisoner, and Mia tries to help Ed.

Laura begins Niska’s consciousness assessments, while Joe notices Sophie’s increasingly eccentric behavior. With their safety in jeopardy, the synths must flee their hideout, but Mia shocks them all with a huge decision.

Mia and Ed take their relationship to the next level, but their secret is soon discovered. Toby tries to get closer to Renie but offends her when he attempts to break through her “synthie” mask. Laura brings a surprise witness to Niska’s trial.

After nearly being captured by the mysterious organization hunting conscious synths, Mia takes a massive risk. Sophie is captivated by Renie’s synthie lifestyle, and Odi struggles to find meaning in his new existence.

Athena challenges the ethics of Milo’s practices and is shocked when he reveals his true plan for synth consciousness. Mia’s surprise return pulls the Hawkins family further into the synth’s troubles, and Mattie finds Leo but isn’t sure she can trust him with her secret.

Concerned about Hester’s influence over Leo, Mattie asks for Max’s help. Laura searches for Niska, while Toby receives a disturbing message from Renie. Karen seeks out Athena’s help to make a life-changing decision, and Mia and Hester break into the Silo.

After the tragedy at the Silo, Karen fears that she and Sam have no future together. As Niska prepares to return to Berlin with Astrid, she doubts she can walk away from her family. Hester seeks revenge against Leo.
