The Fall

Ten days after serial killer Paul Spector absconded to Scotland, the investigation into his crimes has stalled. Surviving victim Annie Brawley struggles to recall details about her ordeal, and Detective Superintendent Stella Gibson is running out of time and money to continue the search for Spector.

As Paul Spector drives Rose Stagg away from her home in the middle of the night, he tells her that he knows she went to the police. With Rose missing, the pressure on the police investigation ratchets up even more. Gibson is forced to face the fact that her words have tipped Spector off about Rose, making her even more desperate to save Rose and catch the killer.

Gibson orders extensive surveillance on Spector's family, but despite the huge police operation, his whereabouts remain unknown. As the search for Rose becomes more desperate with every hour, a near-miss between Spector and Gibson makes their hunt personal. Spector, directing his fury at Gibson, trespasses into her private world, delighting in taunting and provoking her.

Still reeling from the invasion of her hotel room, Gibson catches a break when she discovers that Spector is Annie Brawley's grief counselor. She finally locates Spector and puts him under surveillance, but the discovery of a dead woman's body could deal a heavy blow.

Gibson wants to make sure that a solid arrest strategy is put in place so that no evidence is lost and they have the best chance at saving Rose. However, Spector is unpredictable, and Gibson must act quickly as her plans fall apart in front of her eyes. Relying on the strength of her team, Gibson's becomes a witness to the shocking brutality of Spector's crimes.

The police interrogate Spector in custody, but he refuses to cooperate. In the end, Gibson must confront Spector herself if she has any hope of finding Rose Stagg before it's too late.
