Heaven's Coin 2

One year has passed. Aya (Noriko Sakai) and Takumi (Yutaka Takenouchi) work in a Bihorobestu clinic, Hokkaido. They go to Tokyo for Sonoko's (Tomomi Nishimura) wedding, where they see Shuichi (Takao Osawa). Meanwhile, Shoko (Naomi Hosokawa) is hospitalized close to the due date under the care of Dr. Yagami (Ikki Sawamura). Before long, she gives birth to a boy. (C)NTV

Shuichi hasn't shown up at work since Shoko's death. Aya is worried about him and visits him. Shuichi tells her he still loves her, but Aya asks him to bless her as she marries Takumi. Shuichi can't back off. Meanwhile, Takako (Mitsuko Oka) visits Shuichi, where she finds him and Aya together. (C)NTV

Though Takumi (Yutaka Takenouchi) is aware that Aya (Noriko Sakai) still has feelings for Shuichi (Takao Osawa), he can't forget about her. Having realized she has hurt Takumi, Aya arranges to meet with Takumi to apologize. Takumi comes to the meeting place on time, but when he sees her from afar, he hesitates to go to her. (C)NTV

Shuichi wants to step down and give the Chief position to Takumi so he can go to Hokkaido with Aya. However, Takumi responds with great hostility, and Aya would not say yes to Shuichi, considering Takumi. When Takumi senses that Aya does not say yes to Shuichi out of kindness to him, he tells Aya to go with Shuichi. That night, a tragic incident falls on Takumi. (C)NTV

At the airport, Aya (Noriko Sakai) and Shuichi (Takao Osawa) hear of Takumi's (Yutaka Takenouchi) accident. They hurry to the hospital and learn that Takumi got severely injured when an elevator at the construction site crashed. Aya gives her blood to Takumi and prays for the success of his surgery. Takumi pulls through, but he is now paraplegic due to damage to his spinal cord. (C)NTV

Yagami (Ikki Sawamura) succeeds in his scheme, and Takako (Mitsuko Oka) removes Shuichi from the hospital Chief position. Afraid that Shuichi and Takumi end up in misery, Aya visits Rika (Mai Hosho), the daughter of Sawai Konzern's CEO, and makes an agreement with her. As she promised Rika, Aya says goodbye to Shuichi and heads to Takumi's place. (C)NTV

Aya (Noriko Sakai) leaves Eiseikai Hospital and starts her life with Takumi (Yutaka Takenouchi). Meanwhile, Shuichi (Takao Osawa) and Rika (Mai Hosho) get closer quickly. Seeing that, Yagami (Ikki Sawamura) comes up with another scheme that involves Miwa (Minako Tanaka) and Keiko (Naho Toda). (C)NTV

Now out of Shuichi's and Takumi's lives, Aya visits Takumi's mother, Michiyo (Wakako Sakai), in prison and bonds with her. In despair of Takumi's future, Michiyo commits suicide, leaving a note behind. To Aya, who has started to call her "Mother," it is a great shock. But as she learns that Michiyo ended her own life, trusting her with Takumi, she hides her grief and makes a resolution. (C)NTV

Hearing about his mother's death from Shuichi (Takao Osawa), Takumi (Yutaka Takenouchi) finally understands Aya's true intentions and realizes how foolish he has been. In the meantime, Nozomi (Honami Tajima)'s condition suddenly worsens, leading to emergency surgery. The chances are slim. But when they are at wit's end, Takumi shows up in his scrubs. (C)NTV

Shuichi sees Yoshihiko (Masaki Kitahara) after a long time. He hears from Yoshihiko that Aya is working day and night to make a living and realizes that Aya's action of taking the money was a sad lie for the sake of Shuichi and Takumi. Shuichi feels remorseful, and he decides to support Takumi and Aya. Meanwhile, Takumi succeeds in Nozomi's surgery and regains his confidence as a surgeon. (C)NTV

Broken glass pieces fall all over Aya (Noriko Sakai), and she has to receive a cornea transplant to restore her vision. Shuichi (Takao Osawa) is questioned by the police on an allegation of breach of trust that he hasn't committed. Meanwhile, Takumi (Yutaka Takenouchi) hears from Keiko (Naho Toda) about Yagami's horrifying scheme. (C)NTV

Hearing about Miwa's (Minako Tanaka) "attempted suicide," Takumi rushes over to her and finds an audio recording of her conversation with Yagami. From the tape, he understands that Yagami plotted Shuichi's arrest and Takumi's accident. After being presented with the proof by Takumi, Yagami disappears from the hospital, abducting Aya. (C)NTV
