The Yorkshire Vet

Julian responds to an emergency call for Dobbie the llama, who has badly injured his jaw. Later, he attends to a cow with life-threatening swelling. Peter helps out a pair of elderly farmers with a stray cat, and then back at the practice monitors a pregnant beagle struggling through a difficult labor.

Julian is called out to save a newborn calf who refuses to stand up, then later performs surgery on a dog with a dislocated leg. Peter treats a constipated cat and tries to disentangle a wild stag whose antlers are caught in twine.

Peter performs difficult surgery to remove a cancerous tumor from the face of a semi-feral cat. An amorous donkey named Alfie needs to get neutered, and Julian helps Vera the sheep deliver twins.

Julian goes head-to-head with Hilda the Highland cow, drawing upon his lassoing skills to secure her as he removes a large lump from between her horns. Peter helps a ewe deliver her first lambs and treats a micro-pig who needs a bigger house.

Julian heads out to a farm to see a three-day old calf that has collapsed; later, he must give a pedicure to Elsie, a rare-breed pig--but he has to catch her first. Peter examines a mysterious lump on a newborn lamb and tends to a terrier’s broken leg.

Julian races to save two devious alpacas who snuck into a barn, gorged themselves on food, and are now foaming at the mouth and choking. Peter treats two sheep with eye problems at a farm visitor center, but one of them goes on the attack.

One-ton bull Merchant proves to be an uncooperative patient when he drags Julian around the barn, despite being sedated. Back at the practice, Peter needs to reposition a baby goat’s eyelids before it goes blind.

Peter has a harrowing house call when a cow’s uterus prolapses while she gives birth. Julian faces off with a large boar named Donald who needs to have his sharp, dangerous tusks removed. Veterinary nurse Zoe turns pet detective when she reunites a stray with its owners.

Peter goes to a retirement home for sheep to help one with a sore hoof. Julian’s patient is a working dog that has fallen ill after running through a field of barley, potentially inhaling grain into its lungs. Two corgis are brought to Skeldale after eating a whole bag of raisins, which could cause kidney failure.

Peter and Julian catch up with some of their two- legged and four- legged friends and find out how they’re getting on. Will Dougie, the parrot with a strong Yorkshire accent, allow Julian to trim his claws? Has Elsie the rare-breed pig gotten pregnant? And how are the Greens doing at their farm?

The vets travel around North Yorkshire, treating new cases and a few familiar faces. Peter returns to the Greensit brothers’ farm to tend to a retired broodmare, while Julian checks on a now six-month-old Florence the alpaca.
