Three self-taught teams are determined to realize their dreams of traveling to space. These passionate pioneers have created a backyard space race, each relying on their own personal funds and innovation, to be the first to launch a civilian into space.

Mad Mike and Waldo face a setback in Mike’s quest to make it to space. Ky’s test flight takes a mysterious turn in a corn field, and Cameron struggles in the desert with his hot air balloon.

Mad Mike gets heated in his attempt to best his own altitude record. Cameron makes a risky decision in replacing his hot air balloon, while Ky and Kurt test their rocketry in a land-speed race.

Mad Mike’s final steam rocket launch shocks Waldo and the rest of the rocket world. Cameron and Ky persevere in their mission to make it to space.
