China is a, if not the world powerhouse and to get an initial insight into the country's wealth, Varun meets up with Rupert Hoogewerf who compiles the annual China "Wealth List". His advice - DO believe the hype! Varun explores Pushee (old Shanghai) and Pudong (new Shanghai) which is separated by the River Huangpu (a tributary of the Yangtze), and China's famous tea industry.

On arriving in the Republic of the Maldives, Varun flies North to the Four Seasons Resort at Landaa Giraavaru (in the Baa Atoll) where he is whisked off to the spectacular Landaa Estate. He then heads out into the Indian Ocean with Guy Stevens to snorkel with manta rays. Back at the resort, Varun plants an artificial coral reef with the resident marine biologist Thomas Le Berre.

Varun Sharma is in Athens, the capital of Greece for a guided tour of the city's famous archaeological sites and temples as he uncovers the history of the oldest democracy in the world. He stays in the Royal Suite at the Grande Bretagne, Greece's finest hotel and he explores its famous wines, Metaxa brandy, olive oil, and food. He ends his tour with a trip on a five-star hotel yacht, the Allure.

Varun takes us to New Delhi the capital of India where he stays in the Presidential Suite at the Leela Palace. This opulent hotel in the diplomatic enclave has the largest rooms and the finest cuisine in the city. He explores the history and highlights of the Palace and then shows us the romantic, colourful and vibrant city of Udaipur in the Indian state of Rajasthan.

In this episode, Varun Sharma visits Cambodia and Vietnam. His first stop is the city of the Phnom Penh, Cambodia's capital where he stays at the decadent Raffles Hotel Le Royal. From the spires of the Royal Palace to the lively markets and mighty Mekong River that flows through the city, it's a diverse and exotic location. He then travels to Vietnam to stay on the magnificent Aqua Mekong.
