Song Xiaoyu, an actress in a historical drama read-through, gets pulled into the tragic story of Song Yimeng - a woman destroyed by the male lead. Determined to change fate, she chooses to marry another man, Chu Guihong. But every attempt ends in death and rebirth. Trapped in the script, she must find a way to survive and break free.

After waking up six months before her wedding, Song Yimeng realizes she has time to change her fate. She questions her maids to learn more about Chu Guihong, but they keep praising Nan Heng - the man she must avoid. The next morning, she's taken to the palace garden, where Nan Heng is set to "rescue" her into falling for him.

When Nan Heng rescues Song Yimeng from drowning, she tries to reject him - even slapping his face. But a mysterious typing sound hits, and she suddenly switches, sweetly taking his hand. Shocked, Nan Heng hears the same sound and impulsively kisses her. Seizing the moment, he decides to use this connection to win her for himself - before Chu Guihong can.

During a fight, a masked hero - Li Shiliu himself - suddenly saves her. Nan is furious: he wants her dead, but his body keeps protecting her. His men are confused - kill her or save her? Song, meanwhile, sees Li as a new character not in the script.
