It's 1985 in Mrs Thatcher's Britain and Brian, a scholarship boy arrives at Bristol Uni with a love of knowledge. At uni he tries out for the Challenge team and falls under Alice's spell. He's smitten but hurts the feelings of Rebecca, a friend whose politics and wit he admires. Can Brian redeem himself at the final?
