The Defender is to cease production after an unequalled run of 68 years. Land Rovers have always been built more or less the same. Now it is over. Due to European regulations regarding crash safety for pedestrians. Three special editions are launched in May 2015. Volvo introduced a new global platform with the second generation XC90. We took a look at the highlights in Barcelona.

Audi renovates 2015 the largest model of the Q -Series: Thanks to the lightweight the SUV weights up to 325 kilograms less than its predecessor, but still has an empty weight of almost two tonnes. All-wheel is not only good for off-road. Topless the drive on four wheels also makes sense : This is proven by Porsche Targa 4S and Audi TTS Roadster. Especially during the summer season when the weather makes it an open canopy prevents a lot of joy. Plus good power and traction and the summer event is an outdoor experience with a lot of driving pleasure.

A higher seat position, fancy design and space for at least 4 people - that's what customers love about Lifestyle-SUVs. These 4-wheel drive SUVs prove that you don't have to waive sporty driving features:  The Mercedes GLE Coupe is the response by the Stuttgart-based company to the BMW X6. Both of them are similar in their design: SUV in the bottom, Coupe at the top.

For four generations it has been a loyal car for craftsmen, because of everything that it is able to carry - the VW Caddy. The newest version of the box wagon is fancier and more comfortable than before. And : The Unimog. The universal-motor-machine has been an example for 4-wheel locomotion for more than 60 years now. 

The Cadillac Escalade is the embodiment of American luxury SUVs. The reissue of the flagship of Cadillac will come to Europe in 2015. With a 6.2 liter V8 engine it doesn't only inspire enthusiasts of American cars. We're allowed to take a seat in the 5.70 meter long bolide. And: VW presents their new Multivan. We test-drove the sixth generation of the popular VW bus in Stockholm.

You can't think of cars without thinking of these ones because they're loved by the customers: The BMW X1 and the Audi A6 all-road quattro. The optimized motors of the A6 in the off-road-look feature a power spectrum from 218 to 333 horse power. And the BMW X1 is made on the same platform now, that the MINI is made on, and has a transverse-mounted  front engine.

The Volvo V60 Cross Country is versatile and has a solid appearance. Customers with an active lifestyle especially love the Swedish car. The powerful Cross country Audi from Ingolstadt is a completely different thing: The Audi RS 6 has 560 horse power, 700 Newton-meters of torque distributed over both axles. This 4-wheel car is made for fast family men. Go drive on the highway, not on the terrain!

The successor to the Mercedes GLK is there: The Mercedes GLC. The shape of the compact SUV is significantly rounder than its precursor. That's why it doesn't look like an all-wheel car which could drive on terrain at first sight. Instead it comes up with better handing, more space and innovative assistance systems.

Pickups have been available since the start of motorized locomotion. The combination of passenger car and utility vehicle is practical and versatile. That's why the success of pickups is unbroken. 4x4- the all-wheel magazine tests the Japanese workhorse, the Mitsubishi L200 off-road and on the streets. Compared to a lot of different pickups the L200 possesses a permanent all-wheel drive.

The Audi A4, as the successor to the Audi 80, has been built since 1994. The typical "bread and butter" - vehicle of the manufacturer from Ingolstadt is still popular. In the fall of 2015 the fifth generation arrives in stores, internally called the B9 . We tried out the A4 with quattro-drive in Italy. Additionally: We test the flagship of the Korean producer Hyundai - the Genesis.

The Mercedes G-class, the dinosaur . No ascending slope is too steep and no mud hole is too deep for this all-terrain vehicle. In 2015 Mercedes brings an over-worked version onto the market which shows its skill once again. A looping with a car? The Jaguar F-Pace is capable of doing that.

Volvo has been very experienced under difficult conditions with their cross-country vehicles for the last few decades. Why is the Mitsubishi Lancer Evolutiion X the perfect drifting car. Besides that: the Ford Raptor as a snowmobile, the Fiat Panda as a monster truck and the Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT.
