After Forever

Brian (Kevin Spirtas) projects the visage of late husband Jason (Mitchell Anderson) into his day-to-day life; but when his grief sparks angry outbursts in his personal life and at the office, he seeks counseling from Dr. Evelyn Meyer (Linda Purl).

Lisa (Cady Huffman) continues celebrating Jason's birthday two and a half years after his death, and Brian feels guilty for dreading the event, leading him to work out his guilt with Dr. Meyers.

Brian grapples with complicated feelings about Jason's decision to forego treatment before his death, admitting to Dr. Meyer that he feels obligated to defend Jason's decision to their friends, but in private feels betrayed.

Brian expertly guides p.r. for Stefan's (Christopher J. Hanke) new book, a roman a clef about his secret affair with Jason; Stefan insists it is a work of fiction in a television interview with Moira Michael (Julie Halston), while Brian wonders if he should reveal that he knew about the affair all along.

Brian refuses to endure Lisa's cabaret show honoring Jason's memory, and with Dr. Meyer's help confronts their simmering resentment during Jason's illness and death - feelings that still linger.

Brian determines he must remember Jason as a person rather than a model of perfection, prompting a confession to Stefan, and a willingness to let the truth of Stefan and Jason's affair become public.

Brian and employee Luca (Wyatt Fenner) come close to spending the night together, and Brian contemplates selling the apartment he and Jason shared, hoping to build a new life without being surrounded by memories.

As Brian dismantles the home he shared with Jason, he confronts the failure of his subsequent relationship with David (Mike McGowan), and in an emotional session with Dr. Meyer, finds the courage to finally let go of Jason.
