It is Trevor's birthday, and he and Carol organize a camping trip for everyone. The two also hope the experience will rekindle the fire in their relationship. Though less than enthusiastic about camping, everyone else puts on a brave face.

The gang is invited to a housewarming party for their new neighbors Matt and Seb. Inside their home, Alan spots one of Joyce's bedside tables and believes the two newcomers have stolen it, so Alan hatches a plan to steal it back from them.

The couples attend the naming ceremony for Alan and Joyce's granddaughter Scarlet. John and Maureen are keen to get to know two well-connected party guests, however Carol's idea for an erotic novel turns out to be more interesting.

Mick returns from Spain without his young wife Elena and spoils the mood at a celebration arranged by Carol when he warns everyone not to turn out sad and lonely like him. Meanwhile, John wants to spice things up with Maureen.
