Elinor Wonders Why

Olive doesn't want to practice for her violin lessons, until, during a sleepover, she discovers with Elinor and Ari the amazing crickets and their chirp. Then, when Elinor wonders why her little bird friend Chickee doesn't fly as high as other birds, she and her friends go on an amazing balloon ride to observe why birds fly at different heights.

When Elinor, Ari and Olive are unsatisfied with their kid-sized play nest, they decide to improve it, using ideas from real birds nests. Then, while on a nature adventure, Elinor and her friends observe that lizards eat lots of different foods, which inspires picky eater Koa to do the same.

The kids try to figure out what it is that makes food - specifically, Olive’s curry lunch - spicy! Then, Ari is excited about playing baseball in the Big Game, but after practicing really hard, his muscles are so tired he can't play at all!

Elinor and her friends want to surprise Mz. Mole by decorating her desk for Teacher’s Day, but they struggle to sneak past her, until they observe Siggy the squirrel and learn what makes him great at sneaking. Then, when Ms. Llama is out of her famous truffle tarts, she and the kids go exploring in the forest to try and find some truffles, which is hard, because they grow underground.

When Elinor is made “Clean Captain” at school, she takes the job a little too much to heart! Then, when Ari has a loose tooth at the beach, the kids try to figure out why.

Elinor can’t reach a hanging plant to water it and needs her father’s help, until she finds a way to water it all by herself. Then, when Olive runs out of red crayons for a special project, she and her friends are determined to find one – and end up discovering where crayons come from.
