Holly Robinson Peete and her husband Rodney have their hands full with four kids, two dogs and Holly's mom, Dolores. While Rodney plans a last minute 20th anniversary 'staycation,' Ryan tries to convince her parents to let her go to Lollapalooza.

Dolores and Ryan try to get back in Holly and Rodney's good graces after a botched scheme to get Ryan to Lollapalooza. Then, RJ sets his sights on job hunting and becoming independent, and Holly and Rodney look for ways to spice up their marriage.

Holly and RJ travel to Detroit to open a new RJ's Place at the children's hospital. Rodney takes Ryan on a college tour of his glory days at USC. Then, Robinson gets stuck at home on his 13th birthday without a party, until Uncle Matt saves the day!

Holly is swamped prepping for her star-studded annual HollyRod fundraiser, and Rodney struggles to pick up the slack with the kids. Meanwhile, with Dolores' encouragement, Ryan works up the confidence for her first audition with a big-shot music producer.

As a "Black-tress of a certain age," Holly pursues her dream of owning a lifestyle brand and a mom cave at home to work in. Rodney leads a support group for dads of kids with autism. Ryan lobbies for a puppy to help RJ prepare for life after high school.

When Dolores suddenly needs a place to live, Holly is forced to give up her brand new "mom cave," and Rodney fears that she may get too comfortable. Ten-year-old Roman is tired of getting bullied and tries to bulk up. Ryan shoots her first music video.

After Holly pressures Rodney to get a head MRI due to NFL injuries, Holly and Rodney struggle to decide if Robinson can play football. Dolores begins to wear out her welcome when she challenges Rodney's discipline style.

In the season finale, Rodney finally schedules an MRI to check on his brain after years of pro football. Holly and Rodney get a case of the nerves when Ryan books an open mic and RJ lands a modeling gig. And Dolores announces that she is here to stay.

As Ryan prepares to leave for college, Holly scrambles to plan a farewell party while struggling to figure out how to let go of her father's ashes. Then, the Peete family heads to New York City with Ryan for an emotional goodbye.

After a final goodbye to NYC, the Peetes head to Philly for a trip down memory lane. Holly and Uncle Matt search for the perfect place to bury their father's ashes, and Dolores takes the family to her hometown for a reunion. Guests: Rose Rock, Tonya Lee.

When Robinson and Roman have trouble at school, Holly and Rodney look into homeschooling options. Meanwhile, RJ loves his new job with the Dodgers, but Holly struggles to adjust to his independence. Rodney convinces former players to join a study on CTE.

Holly enlists Rodney to help figure out a way to talk to the Ryan and the boys about sexual consent. In an attempt to "be normal," RJ posts an inappropriate message on his social media. Dolores struggles to homeschool Robinson and Roman.

Holly and Rodney support RJ as he attempts to achieve another milestone and pass his driver's permit test. Meanwhile, Uncle Matt reveals his Parkinson's diagnosis to the family, inspiring Robinson to organize a benefit concert.

After hearing about a police shooting involving an autism caregiver, Holly hosts a town hall to bring together law enforcement and the special needs community. Dolores throws herself a Decades Luncheon. Special Guests: Charles Kinsey, Robbie Montgomery.

Two former officers give RJ and Robinson a crash course in police encounters. RJ shocks Holly and Rodney when he says that he is ready to move out on his own. Dolores reveals a family secret and begins a search for a sister she hasn't seen in 57 years.

Holly and Dolores land a meeting with Senator Kamala Harris to talk about how to reform police training in support of the special needs community. Robinson throws a hip-hop charity event for Uncle Matt. Dolores announces she wants to move out.
