Helmut Schrieber enchanted at parties as the "court magician of the Nazis", entertaining the masses at NSDAP events whilst also responsible for propaganda films. After the war, he was no longer allowed to work in the film industry, so turned his hobby into an international career as the world's greatest post-war magician, an example of the merciless complicity and suppression of the Nazi past.
