Marisela suffers from bipolar disorder and stops treatment when she feels better. After years of hardships and inadequate medical care, her condition worsens. She hits rock bottom and responsibly accepts her illness. She starts medication and therapy, regaining control of her life.

Mary and Dalia were abused by their brother Pablo and rejected by their mother Sandra. Mary marries Héctor and works to support her child. Dalia suffers abuse from Juan, who loses their baby and leaves her. Both start therapy, report their abusers, and Sandra confronts her guilt for failing to protect them during childhood.

Berenice works in a shoe store and is about to marry Manuel, who’s deeply depressed after losing his sister. He fears he has a brain tumor, but tests show he’s fine. Still, he quits his job and breaks off the engagement. Guided by a psychologist, Berenice encourages him to seek therapy. He agrees, and together they begin to rebuild their lives.

Atziri and José go to the House of Indigenous Women in Pátzcuaro, Michoacán, to ask for help rescuing their daughter Donají from the violence she is experiencing with Yoltic. There, they meet Erendari, a volunteer at the center, who supports another volunteer named Paty so that she doesn't feel inferior for being a single mother, since Paty has been stigmatized by this fact.

Donají meets Yoltic at the orange picking in Tamaulipas. There they fall in love, and she decides to go with him to Tanlajás, San Luis de Potosí, despite the warnings of José, her father, who tells her he doesn't know the boy well.
