Maureen is now a journalist for the Sunday magazine of the Irish Standard, the same paper that Terry works for. She gets a call from Olivia, the hard-nosed American CEO of huge U.S. pharmaceutical company, Maestus International. She's in town to complete takeover negotiations with the charismatic MD of Chemacran, an Irish pharmaceutical company.

Maureen digs up dirt on the merger for her interview with O’Farrell, while Terry and Cora go to Plunkett’s house and discover his dead body.

Terry and Cora are badly shaken by the accident. Tessa, meanwhile, tries to get on with her life. She clears up the debris of her burnt out shop and removes the racist graffiti from its front. Maureen follows up on the connection between Olivia and Rogan. She goes to the Irish Medicine Board and finds out that Rogan was on the board of the government committee that passed drugs for Chemacran.

Maureen updates Terry on what she had found out about Rogan - that he was involved in the government board that passed Seraban and is a principal shareholder in Chemacran. Terry realises that the shares must've been a back-hander for pushing the drug through the official channels more quickly. Meanwhile, Decky has been arrested, but Tessa is too scared to identify him.
