Matatoshi Nakayama Sensei, one of the main disciples of the founder Gichin Funakoshi, and chief instructor of the JKA was one of the most prominent figures in the history and evolution of modern karate. A month before his death he welcomed Salvador Herraiz at his home in Tokyo and he gave the last interview in his life.
