Against her better judgement, happily married Jill Baker (Merle Oberon) is persuaded to see a popular psychoanalyst about her psychosomatic hiccups. Soon, she's disillusioned about her husband Larry, (Melvyn Douglas) & one day at the doctor's office, she meets & falls for pianist Alexander Sebastian, (Burgess Meredith, probably most well known today as "The Penguin" from the "Batman" TV show).
