Morgan's client, Freddie Grimshaw, is the most successful jockey in horse-racing, thanks to the Devil. But Freddie doesn't feel he needs redemption, because he made his deal to honor his older brother Mick, a great jockey who died in a tragic fall during a race, shortly before Freddie made his deal.

Maxwell Gunn is acknowledged to be the top chef in North America, and turns out to be one of a number of Morgan's clients who've sold their souls for that honor over the centuries. But it appears that Maxwell's deal has had some very dark effects.

Morgan's client, Timothy Alpert, is a stoner who found a practical application of his Ph.D. in Philosophy by using the Devil's power to spin unhappy people into alternate realities where all their desires are satisfied.

By the time Morgan finds his new client, Ashley Ross, she has become a feral animal after years of sucking blood from junkies in order to survive. Morgan must bring Ash back to some semblance of humanity before they can explore the effect that her disappearance, at age 18, has had on her family and best friend.

Janis Eisner is a wild party girl and the most popular VJ on MUCH Music. She initially avoids Morgan, saying he's crazy to believe in the Devil, but after Janis actually absorbs her muscly boyfriend during a fight with Morgan, it turns out Janis was the crazy one.

Henry Tollin was the 5th generation of his family to work their land, and when he got deeply into debt after a run of bad weather, he sold his soul to save the family farm. But his plan to have a family of his own to pass the farm on to went sour during his deal, and left him to take care of his elderly father and await his fate.

While attending a meeting to see Maya take her one-month chip in Narcotics Anonymous, Morgan discovers that Maya's sponsor, Tracey, is taking her 10-year chip for a reason: she sold her soul to get clean. Not only does this put Tracey's soul in imminent peril, but Maya's as well,

Morgan is shocked when Maurice Jeanrichard materializes out of thin air in his apartment, and rushes to grab food while explaining to Morgan that he heard about Morgan's soul-saving deal with the Devil and needs his services.

With only hours to go in the deal of a client who has sold his soul to win at any kind of gambling, Maya's suspicions about Morgan have grown since she discovered his involvement with her sponsor.

Warren Park is a former tabloid journalist, who has built a News Corp-size media empire with the Devil's help. Warren himself accepted long ago that he was always bound for Hell, but he is very concerned with seeing that his empire passes to his beloved son Chris, an ethical young man troubled by his father's cynical willingness to do anything to get market share.

The Devil lets Morgan follow a client, Kandyse Crown, to Eastern Europe. When he approaches her, however, she shoots him, the beginning of what will be a difficult relationship complicated by Kandyse's many layers of secrets. Kandyse swears that she didn't sell her soul to become a spy -- she was already a good spy -- but won't initially reveal what help it was she did get from the Devil.

We begin in the year 1666, where Morgan watches the second great Plague decimate Europe. Sunk in his own memories of his failure to save Katrina, he welcomes the distraction of going to collect the soul of Jan Van Der Heyden, a scientist who has sold his soul to understand the deepest secrets of Alchemy.

Morgan discovers that his new client is a priest, Father Derek Martin. Martin describes how he sold his soul ten years earlier in exchange for the Devil's promise not to come to the aid of his demons, who always call on the Devil's help when they face expulsion from the body they've possessed.
