It is summer and Sodor welcomes many more people to the island leaving The Fat Controller concerned about getting them to their destinations on time.

Instead of waiting for Diesel to help, Thomas decides to take a load of troublesome trucks on his own... and then there is trouble!

There is a coal shortage. Timothy warns Bill and Ben to go easy and spare their coal. But, as usual, Bill and Ben don't listen!

When Spencer brings a Very Important Passenger from the mainland, his rushing and showing off leads to confusion and delay.

Gator returns to Sodor. Percy is very excited to see him and immediately sets off to find him. But the two engines keep missing each other.

Gator helps collect Oliver's trucks but his lamp keeps going out. Toad doesn't think it is safe and they argue, until Toad has a bright idea...
