Pokémon the Series: The Beginning (2 seasons)

Ash Ketchum, a 10-year-old from Pallet Town, is finally old enough to receive his first Pokémon! However, he oversleeps, and the only remaining Pokémon at Professor Oak's lab is a strong-willed Pikachu!

Ash rushes into Viridian City with his wounded Pikachu, where he encounters Jessie, James, and Meowth of Team Rocket, as well as Misty, who's angry about Ash wrecking her bike!

Ash discovers and catches his first Pokémon! Though he's excited, Misty is grossed out by his new Bug-type Pokémon friend.

An angry swarm of Beedrill attacks Ash and Samurai in the midst of a Metapod standoff! Ash flees, leaving behind his Metapod, who is mad at him for abandoning it.

Ash challenges the Pewter City Gym Leader, Brock, but even Pikachu has no chance against Brock's Rock-type Pokémon. With the mysterious Flint helping him, it's time for Ash to train hard before the rematch!

A scientist leads Ash and his friends deep into Mt. Moon to find the storied Moon Stone, which is said to increase the power of Pokémon!

Ash seeks the Cascade Badge in Cerulean City-but for some reason, Misty doesn't want to join him.

After earning his second badge, Ash sets off triumphantly for Vermilion City. Along the way, he hears of AJ, a Trainer on the brink of 100 straight victories. Full of confidence, Ash challenges this fearsome Trainer!

Ash meets some students, who are bullying their classmate Joe. Joe insists the rough treatment is necessary so he'll be strong enough to graduate. Ash doesn't agree.

Completely lost, our heroes reach a village not shown on their map. This quiet place is inhabited by Pokémon that have been injured in battle or abandoned by their Trainers.

As our heroes press on toward Vermilion City, they encounter an injured Charmander, sitting atop a stone on a mountain pass. They later find out why it is waiting there.

Ash and his friends walk along a path and fall into a hole dug by a group of mischievous Squirtle. Why is the Squirtle Squad such a menace to the local population?

The party meets Bill, a Pokémon researcher who is waiting in his lighthouse for the coming of a one-of-a-kind Pokémon, never before seen by humans. Could such a Pokémon truly exist?
