Murdoch and Ogden have been abducted, and now baby Susannah's life is at stake unless they can get the murder conviction of a socialite overturned. After ridding the station house of its corrupt leadership, Crabtree is appointed interim inspector.

Murdoch and Ogden have managed to exonerate a socialite convicted of killing her husband, but they have qualms about their actions. Brackenreid contends with an attack on Margaret, and Crabtree grapples with a murderous vigilante.

After a man is bludgeoned aboard a ship, Murdoch learns the victim was a suspect in the recent theft of the "Mona Lisa" from the Louvre. His inquiries lead him to other artistically inclined passengers, including one who spent time in a sanitorium.

Brackenreid's rowdy bachelor party for Constable Tucker takes a violent turn when a drunk patron is found dead in an oyster barrel. Making matters worse, Tucker had an altercation with the victim earlier in the evening.

While sauntering through a street fair, the team are intrigued by a mechanical fortune-teller but warned that any requests they make on it will definitely come true. After Ogden wishes for fewer obligations, she gets more than she bargained for.

When Ogden visits a country health retreat with Effie, she's skeptical yet intrigued by its alternative practices and charismatic leader. But after one of the longtime guests suddenly dies, the relaxing getaway turns into a murder mystery.

Ogden meets Hart at the stables to see her horse, Cool Million. The thoroughbred was one of the few assets Hart salvaged in her lawsuit with her late husband's family. But when another racehorse is found dead in his stall, Hart suspects foul play.

On a ladies' getaway in the woods, Ogden, Hart, Effie, and Louise Cherry encounter a troop of girl adventurers whose leader has been stabbed by a madman. In Toronto, Murdoch and Watts investigate a convict lured to his death by a fake love letter.

A dead body rolls out of Santa's toy sack at a department store Christmas parade. Stuffed into the man's mouth are $10 bills with "naughty" scrawled on them. The parade marshal blames the store's rival, but it appears the victim was quite a Scrooge.

When a construction company owner is shot dead at a barbershop, Murdoch suspects a professional assassin, despite the barber and the victim's father claiming the deceased was well liked. Meanwhile, an injured and bored Effie spies on her neighbors.

Murdoch and Brackenreid face fierce competition when Chief Inspector Stewart enters them into the Scottish Highland Games. But their participation has to wait until they can apprehend the killer of a sword dancer stabbed with a ceremonial dagger.

Ogden and Margaret attend a fortunetelling fair, where a raucous religious group denounces the psychic practitioners as demonic occultists. Later, when a body is found in an alley with the death tarot card, Murdoch is convinced there's a link.

Crabtree takes a train north to intercept his fugitive father, who is wanted for murder. But on the journey he discovers a murdered cop, and then he's nearly killed himself by a ruffian passenger before a mysterious man known as Forge saves him.

The team investigate a badly burned body found inside the charred remains of a shed at the University of Toronto agricultural campus. The corpse is thought to be a science professor, and a burn pattern on the floor suggests the fire was no accident.

A treasure hunter approaches Watts about a trove of Incan gold stolen by a distant relative of Watts, whose family heirloom holds the key to finding it. When the man turns up dead, Murdoch surmises that following his map will lead to his murderer.

Margaret attends a gospel revival meeting where a man renounces Satan and then promptly drops dead. Though Murdoch and Brackenreid think the preacher is a charlatan, he's only guilty of not having proper permits. But then they take a closer look.

Spy Terrence Meyers wants Louise Cherry arrested for a contentious article she wrote about the leading candidate for prime minister, Robert Borden. Murdoch refuses, but things get complicated when a recently fired employee of Borden's is murdered.

Driving past a cemetery at night, a man is so startled by a ghostly apparition that he hits a person in the road. Murdoch arrests him for murder, but the postmortem reveals the victim was stabbed before he was run over. Could the "ghost" be real?

Odgen's dream of a women's hospital is finally realized-and then promptly shattered, after a mysterious illness forces her to impose a quarantine right after the institution opens.

After an up-and-coming young composer is killed by an ice pick to the ear, Murdoch suspects a rival musician may have silenced him. Murdoch and Crabtree surveil the attendees at the wake, where they are immersed in a series of musical reveries.

When a woman is stabbed in her university dorm room, Crabtree and Watts believe that a fellow student is responsible.

After a shooting lands Murdoch in a coma, he hears the team interrogate witnesses in song. As the musical accounts swoop and soar, the detective can't understand why everyone around him is singing instead of focusing on who shot him.

When a man dies in a drunken brawl at the Starbright Lounge, Murdoch's top suspect is another detective.

Now appointed to the post of acting inspector, Murdoch oversees the case of a prominent medical scientist who may have faked his own death.
