Carol, an emotionally bottled up woman, begins writing and singing songs she wrote about people she knows as a sort of therapy. Her songs alienate her friends and co-workers except for her boss, Dave. Dave fires Carol with a large severance package so she can pursue her music, and then Dave quits his job so he can chase rock star dreams with her.
