The murder of a beloved philanthropist by one of her adopted children was one of Larosière's biggest cases and caused a sensation. But now the case is being reopened, and the family of the dead woman bristles at having their secrets disturbed.

While on a seaside vacation, Larosière meets a beautiful young designer who asks for his help after several close calls with death. As the case progresses, Larosière finds himself losing his heart to her and that could cost him his life.
