Igloo-gloo

Five plastic rings of different colours and sizes drop from the sky. The seal pups discover how they make good haloes, and train wheels, and fantastic hula hoops! Not easy to ‘hula hoop’ for a seal pup but… Snowflake and Snowball always find a way to have fun. 

A mop drops from the sky and plants itself in the ground ‘heads up’. Snowball likes to hide behind its ‘hair’ and Snowflake uses it as a dancing partner. Other favourite thrills include riding the mop like a galloping horse, or using it as a pretend tricycle.

A set of keys drops from the sky; a real treat for Snowball who pretends they’re for his very own car. And vroom! He’s off! Snowflake also gets to use the car but Snowball loves driving so much, she doesn’t mind enjoying the view from the passenger seat. 

A flower pot with a packet of seeds featuring a daisy on it drops from the sky. Snowflake and Snowball cleverly figure out how to make flowers grow. And their plant is generous: so many pretty white daisies bloom that the seal pups can offer each other one. 

An onion drops from the sky. The seal pups use it to play baseball, but before the first pitch, Snowflake takes a bite… and loves the taste! But not Snowball! Snowflake has fun at his expense, breathing on him, and Snowball runs away in mock terror at his sister’s onion breath antics. 

A tablecloth drops from the sky. Snowball pokes at it and shakes it around so much that he ends up sporting it like a headscarf! Snowflake finds this item quite handy for playing toreador and Snowball loves to wear it as a cape for his favourite game of all: Superhero! 

A pail and shovel drop from the sky. The finds are perfect for a ‘feed the baby’ game, but ‘baby Snowball’ makes such a mess spitting out his food that ‘mommy Snowflake’ turns the pail over his head. Hey! The pail makes a great hat too, then!

A handbag drops from the sky. It is a great accessory for Snowflake’s shopping game, and for her favourite hiding ploy: she leaves the bag open, hides, and waits. When Snowball shows up, he checks inside, but goes so deep that when he straightens up, the handbag stays on his head!

A pair of sunglasses drops from the sky. The seal pups experiment a bit before they end up wearing the glasses correctly. But Snowball soon invents a variation where he sports the glasses backwards! Later, the glasses break but still, the pups are content with each having only one lens to look through.

A feather duster drops from the sky. A nonconformist, Snowball uses it as a barbell, while Snowflake prefers a lighter ‘dusting’ activity. And there’s some tickling in store too, as Snowflake keeps waking up with an urge to sneeze… until she realizes Snowball has been waving the duster under her nose. 

A box drops from the sky close to the seal pups’ igloo. Snowball and Snowflake play around and inside their new find, and have even more fun using it as a pretend car, a motorcycle and a house.

A toy cell phone drops from the sky. The seal pups have fun making ringing and talking noises into it. Dring! Moo! Oink! Later, as they fish for their dinner, Snowball has an idea: why not phone in to order food? Who knew you could eat pizza while ice fishing! 

A clown and a witch’s masks drop from the sky. The seal pups are afraid of the witch. However, it’s ‘fun afraid’, with lots of excited attempts at getting close to the dreaded mask, and soon, there’s plenty of antics, playful chases and even, a mask show.

A piece of stinky cheese drops from the sky. Snowflake dislikes the smell but Snowball makes the most it, hiding the cheese under a rose so Snowflake unwittingly takes a good sniff. When she eventually drops the cheese in the ice fishing hole, even the fish find it too stinky!

Two big clothes pins drop from the sky. Snowball has lots of fun pretending the pins are people. But then, Snowflake figures out that by using Snowball as one end of a clothes line, pins can be great for hanging the socks she just pulled out of the fishing hole.

A whistle drops from the sky. After some shaking and prodding, Snowball figures out what a neat noise it makes if you blow in it. But then poor Snowflake can t sleep a wink and ends up casting the whistle in the fishing hole¦ only to hear that even the fish love to blow the whistle! 

A toy garden rake drops from the sky. The seal pups figure out what a great back scratcher it is. The rake is also a handy comb!

A toy truck drops from the sky. Snowball likes it but Snowflake isn’t too enthused and would rather go fishing. When Snowball uses the truck to steal the fish she caught, she pouts.

A bra drops from the sky. The seal pups use it to play a wild game of ‘catch me if you want it’ tag until they each end up with a bra cup on their head.

A straight plastic pipe drops from the sky. What fun to look at each other from both ends, or pretend it’s a spy glass! Snowball also imagines the pipe is a flute, as he loves to play music for Snowflake.

A rubber spider drops from the sky. After finding out that it is harmless, Snowball takes it around for a tour of the igloo.

A bra drops from the sky. The seal pups use it to play a wild game of ‘catch me if you want it’ tag until they each end up with a bra cup on their head.
