Global conservationist M. Sanjayan travels to California as it suffers the longest dry period in a thousand years. He then visits the Arctic where temperatures are increasing rapidly; the Indian Ocean where coral islands are increasingly at risk; and Kenya where a remote community is in search of a cheap and reliable alternative supply of fresh water.

Global conservationist M. Sanjayan continues his journey in east Africa, where heroes are protecting the elephants in Kenya. Then, he travels to Brazil where climate change and cattle are bringing humans into conflict with some of the planet’s most iconic animals. Finally, in Cambodia, he discovers the way people living on southeast Asia’s largest lake are adapting to a fishing crisis.
