Sikkim is a land-locked and segregated state in India's most northerly region, an independent Buddhist kingdom of forests and tea plantations on the edge of the Himalayas. Historical, cultural and spiritual, Sikkim is strongly associated with Tibet and possesses more than two hundred monasteries including most holy monastery of the Nyingmapa schools in Tashiding.
