Time Team HD

During the 19th century restoration work at Westminster Abby uncovered a previously unknown section of the church The Time Team begin excavating the area to try and determine the origin and use of the unknown section As they do they begin to make discoveries far older and more critical

The team travels to the Isle of Mull to investigate a series of strange structures found deep in a forest There is suspicion the site may be a previously unknown Christian Church or it could be a simple farmers dwelling If its the former it could date back to the time of Saint Columba

Piercebridge is the site of an extensive Roman fort designed to protect a crossing of the River Tees The Time Team looks at the many anomalies in the area such as why there appear to be three different bridges across the river and the collection of precious objects discovered in the river itself

The Time Team travels to Sutton Courtenay in Oxfordshire to excavate an old Saxon settlement The area is well known from some famous photos of crop markings and there is a suspicion the holy grail of archeology may be found A royal Saxon Hall This could have been the home of royalty over 1000 years ago but it will take three days of digging to find out for sure

Hopton Castle was the site of a great and bloody massacre during the English Civil War There is only a single account of the battle and subsequent slaughter of the defenders The Time Team investigates the site and establishes how much of the report is actually true Through archaeological findings how much more can they deduce about the battles events

First in 1940 aerial photos of a field revealed the location of a lost Roman town Later substantial coin hoards were found The Time Team decides to find out why the money was there and the real purpose of this town Conducting the first proper excavation of the town of Cunetio in over fifty years will the Time Team discover something that others have not

Norman Cross is possibly the worlds first purposebuilt POW camp Although the site was closed in 1816 no archaeological work has ever been done The Time Team has three days to discover and map the shape of the camp and uncover what life was like for POWs during the time

The team goes to an enigmatic castle site in Wales The layout of the walls and the central keep are well understood at Tregruk Castle but there are substantial blank spaces within the wall that seem to have had no purpose What will they uncover

The team visits Portsmouth to try and uncover one of the citys oldest buildings a medieval hospital After three days of bonechilling weather and confusing archaeology can the Time Team work out what stood on Governors Green

The Time Team descends upon the Oxfordshire town of Burford to respond to a very special challenge from Time Teams own Professor Mick Aston

A quiet Cambridgeshire village gets the full Time Team treatment as Tony and the digging team hunt for the missing remains of what is believed to be one of Britains biggest Roman villas plus a cemetery for good measure Has 18thcentury quarrying destroyed all meaningful evidence The villagers await anxiously to see what the Time Team can tell them about the place they call home

Tony and the team climb a remote Herefordshire hill to investigate one of the most significant prehistoric sites ever featured on Time Team Was Dinmore Hill the site of a vast Iron Age hill fort or possibly a crossridge dyke To figure it out they need dateable finds but the dig is slowed by torrential rain The team is joined by historian Bettany Hughes and archaeologists Keith Ray and Mike Allen

In 1825, Edmund Tyrell Artis claims to have found Roman statues, buildings, and even burials in the woods near Cambridgeshire. In 2005, Artis' site has been rediscovered, and the Team has 3 days to get some answers. Was this a legitimate find or an elaborate hoax for archaeological glory?
