Ash begins his journey in Johto, a region largely unexplored and populated with Pokémon entirely new to him and his friends.

On the road again, Ash and his Charizard soundly defeat an ambitious rookie Trainer named Casey. Upset, she runs away before Ash can comfort her-the perfect time for Team Rocket to strike!

In a forest that's being destroyed by rampaging Pinsir, Ash has to enlist the help of the local Heracross to protect their home! But it turns out these Pokémon look tougher than they act...
