Not for Ourselves Alone:The Story of Elizabeth Cady Stanton & Susan B. Anthony

Tells the forgotten story of the women's rights pioneers Elizabeth Cady Stanton and Susan B. Anthony, from their births to the historic first Women's Rights Convention in 1848, where the demand for the right to vote was first made, through the bitter defeat of that demand by the post-Civil War Congress.

Stanton and Anthony's fight for women's voting rights continues with Anthony's arrest and trial for "illegally" voting in 1872. Stanton writes the radical feminist essay "The Solitude of Self" and the controversial "The Woman's Bible". Finally in 1920 the 19th Amendment granting women the right to vote is passed. Neither woman would live to witness this triumph.
