The Buster Keaton Show

The sporting goods store is losing money. Buster only keeps his job because of his work ethic. After a horrible encounter with Margaret Dumont, he leaves. After contemplating suicide, a radio broadcast convinces him to go to a psychic/psychiatrist/printer/lawyer who sells him a fake bakery.

Buster gives golf lessons in his sporting goods store. Broke and moneyless, he now owns a small repertory theatre in the San Fernando Valley. His leading lady has expectations for an extensive wardrobe that he can't say no to. The billboard ad for the show takes every penny he has. The show, billboard, and even the date, prove to be disastrous.

Two German scientists come into the store looking to equip themselves for a trip to Africa where they plan to find a missing gorilla. Buster decides to join them on their search, until he discovers something totally unexpected.

When the sporting goods store gets their first delivery truck, Buster tries to obtain a driver's license. Unknown to him, they changed the DMV office to an army recruiting office. Buster doesn't fit into the army life and spends all his time trying to register for his driver's license.

The pilot episode. Buster works in a sporting goods store with his co-worker, who is a former boxer. When they inadvertently antagonize a couple professional wrestlers, they wind up in an all-out tag team match. The creative insanity and wit of Buster prove to be a challenge for the wrestlers.

Buster arrives home to babysit a young boy dressed as a cowboy. He tells the boy stories about playing poker with the terrible James Boys right before getting into a gun fight and prevailing over all 4 of them, and how he charmed a beautiful girl.

Business is slow at the sporting good store as Buster reads a private eye story, eats graham crackers as well as dog biscuits. He decides to pursue his dream of becoming a private eye, but discovers it to be more difficult than he thought. He encounters a variety of increasingly odd characters in his search for the Yellow Canary Café.

Buster prepares for a boxing match with Rocky by running and jumping rope. Rocky is a professional boxer with a statuesque wife. When he catches his wife with Buster in an innocently compromising position, things don't bode well for Buster in the ring.

Buster and his wife spend New Year's Eve in the big city. Their preparations for a night on the town are interrupted by a nagging bellman, inebriated room invaders, pesky maids, and last-minute reservation troubles.
