Ingvar and the Swedish police are preparing for a State Visit by the American President, Helen Tyler. But the joy of having the newly-elected president in Stockholm is short-lived as the US president mysteriously disappears.

The Swedish police allocate all of their resources to the search for the President. Inger realizes that her past is catching up with her when Ingvar is chosen as the Swedish contact for Warren Schifford.

The culture clash between the Swedish police and the FBI is becoming more and more evident as leads to the president end at a dead bodyguard, Hunter Russel.

Leaks from the Swedish police prove to be from someone working on the Task Force. Ingvar and Inger determine that they cannot trust anyone but each other, but their private lives are put to the test when Warren worms his way into Inger’s life.

Inger discovers that she is being tailed and goes to Hedvig for help. The puzzle pieces slowly begin falling into place and Inger gets an idea to take matters into her own hands.

Warren has a hard time getting the rest of the FBI to listen to his theory on what is behind the president’s disappearance. Inger ends up in a very conflicted situation when Helen Tyler does not want to be found by the outside world.

Ingvar is forced, against his will, to cooperate with Warren in order to have a chance in finding Inger and Helen. Inger begins to understand what is behind the president’s disappearance and that there are dangerous forces still looking for them.

The Swedish police and the FBI now know where Helen Tyler is, but will they get there in time? The President’s daughter, Zoe, finds out about a secret that causes her to act in haste.
