Pan, a young man with a great love for music and dreams of pop stardom, enjoys a simple life with his new wife, Sadao, in their country village. The two are soon separated, though, when Pan is drafted into the army. After going AWOL from the military to pursue his musical ambitions, Pan and Sadao are reunited only to be separated again by an unfortunate series of events.
