As Bola dreams of reclaiming Abayomi, Jacob's dreams of reconciliation with Lerato are shattered. Lisa's kidnappers contact Prospero with an outrageous ransom demand, he is forced to weigh his sister's life against national safety.

Jacob, employs a ravishing and sensible attorney. Bola says he has turned over a new leaf and turns on the charm. Prospero discovers sordid secrets while Paul gets the ransom, half a kilo of enriched uranium. He offers it to Prospero at a huge cost.

Prospero comes up with a daring plan to save Lisa and in the process, discovers something more sinister is afoot. Jacob is enchanted by his straight-talking beautiful divorce attorney and Bola realizes Chichi's memory lapse may work in his favor.

Andile gets a lead on who might have compromised the ransom exchange, he also finds himself the center of both Ntombi and Lisa's affections. Jacob learns of Bola and Chichi's alliance.

Chichi's accusation against Jacob is backed up by a surprising source. Prospero takes his relationship with the sultry Dr. Jones to the next level and Thembi is distressed to hear of Ntombi's affection for Andile.

Bola relishes his new position as CEO of Abayomi as Jacob battles to keep his shares in the power plant. Paul makes a move to acquire Jacob's interests as Jacob finds that he is on a collision course with Kau and his life-long friend Prospero.

Prospero is in deep trouble when news of the missing uranium is front page news. He accuses Jacob of being the leak. Zanele clashes with Jacob over Isaac and the police make a shocking discovery that spells trouble for the Makhubus.

Mzukizi's body is unearthed. Thembi and Andile are questioned by police, while Ntombi struggles with feelings for her estranged but now dead father. Paul exploits the breakdown in Zanele and Jacob's relationship as bits of Chichi's memory return.

Ntombi is distraught when Andile admits to killing her father and her grief is compounded when Thembi confesses to the same murder! Andile is determined not to let his mother take the fall. Dafe tells Folake of a mysterious disease outbreak in the Delta.

While Jacob tries to keep his mother out of jail, Folake realizes she is alone against an increasingly menacing Bola. Andile is determined to set the records straight at Thembi's trial but an unexpected witness appears and the tables turn.

Chichi fears the worst as Folake's health begins to fail. Thembi's acquittal celebration turns sour when Andile is upset by his family celebrating lies and deception. Bola launches his final attack on Folake with fatal consequences.

Lisa fights for her life while Jacob, fueled by pain is determined to bring Bola to justice. Bola flees and Jacob resumes his place as the head of the Abayomi's. Unfortunately, they are all in grave danger as the EU falls into treacherous hands.

As Jacob prepares to host some of the world's most powerful energy people at the Abayomi clean energy conference, Bola plots his final revenge. A race against time ensues as Jacob discovers Bola's devastating plan.
